At Italgrani USA, we are not one single business but many, designed to overlap and interact in different ways. Connecting them all is the goal to have what it takes to handle our customers' grain needs, from the pasta manufacturer seeking semolina milled from the best quality durum, to the farmer in need of market intelligence and the best price for his or her crop.

Italgrani Aerial ShotHeadquartered in the center of America's heartland, St. Louis, MO, our operations are strategically placed throughout farm country. We have one of North America's largest durum wheat mills located in St. Louis, grain elevator operations in North Dakota, a trading operation in Minneapolis, MN, and a new, state-of-the-art grain unloading, grain storage and barge loading facility in St. Louis.

History

Italgrani USA got its start in 1979 with an office in Minneapolis, MN. With an overall goal of establishing a North American presence for Italgrani's international grain trade, we purchased a grain elevator in St. Louis and, in 1987, added a durum wheat mill next to the grain elevator. The original capacity was 6,000 cwt/day of prime product. The mill went through a major increase in capacity in 1991 to 16,000 cwt/day. In 2008, with the introduction of the debranning equipment, capacity grew to 19,000 cwt/day. Starting in 2005, the cleaning house was upgraded with the installation of color sorters and high capacity wheat separators and new PLC applications. In 2007, another 30,000 cwt of flour storage was added.

Meanwhile, driven by a desire to better meet all the grain needs of our customers, we added grain trading and brokerage services in 1988, acquiring Mayco Export, Inc. A few years later, we began purchasing grain elevator operations in North Dakota, allowing us to seamlessly integrate our grain sourcing and milling operations with our local farmer customers.
